Super Bowl 4408.02.10

Super Bowl 44 the most anticipated game of the year has finally arrived featuring the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts. This was the first Super Bowl appearance by the Saints and the second in four years by the Colts. The game started in favor of the Colts having a 10point lead in the 1st quarter; however the Saints dominated most of the 2nd quarter making two field goals to make the game 6-10 going into half time. The 2nd half was amazing it all began with an onisde kick by the Saints which was recovered. The second quarter also featured an amazing 2 point conversion catch by Lance Moore. Peyton Manning threw a crucial interception in the 4th quarter that went for a td by Tracy Porter. This interception caused the Colts the chance to win the game. The Saints were able to outscore the Colts 25-7 in the second half this gave the New Orleans Saints and the city of New Orleans their first Super Bowl win in franchise history. I believe this Super Bowl was okay it wasn’t that high scoring like all the people said it was going to be, but man Sean Peyton sure got his team ready to dominate the second half and it all began with that onside kick which gave all the momentum to the New Orleans Saints.

Ah football season is over. Now we all gotta wait till September.

Championship Sunday25.01.10

Today in AFC and NFC Championship Sunday we had two games and 4 teams playing for a trip to the Super Bowl. Well, first we had the Jets@Colts. This game for me was exciting in the beginning when the Jets had an 11 point lead to go in to half time, but Manning was able to complete 2 huge passes to Austin Collie one which went for a td. The game went into halftime 17-13.Well after this play Colts dominated all of the second half final score 17-30. The second game we had was Vikings at Saints. This game was way better than the earlier game. The game was high scoring both teams had mistakes, the Vikings were on the hunt to winning the game with a couple of seconds to go in the 4th quarter however Brett Favre did it again he threw a int that cost the Vikings the chance to go to the Super Bowl. Brett Favre did this in his last game with the Packers in the 2007 NFC Championship against the Giants. Brett Favre then threw an int in overtime this caused the Packers their Super Bowl appearance. The game this Sunday went to overtime in which the Saints won the coin toss and won on a 40yard field goal. The Saints are going to there first Super Bowl in team history.

Divisional Playoffs18.01.10

Well this week in the divisional playoff round we had four games 2 of those games were not that excited for me, but the two other were. So on Saturday we had the Cardinals taking on the Saints this game was not that interesting besides Reggie Bush being the highlight of the game he scored a run td and he returned a punt for a td. In this game the Cardinals got whoop 45-14. The next game we had was Ravens at Colts another game that turned out to be pretty boring as well the score was 20-3 Colts came on top. Ravens made some mistakes they wish they had back, but is football and anything happens. Okay now we get to Sunday game first we had the Cowboys taking on the Vikings and what a game it was. The Cowboys got handled by the Vikings defense they were only able to score 3 points and Tony Romo was sack I believe 5 times this just makes me happy. Well lets talk about the Vikings man Brett Favre the old guy could still play he threw 4 tds 3 of them to Sidney Rice and one final one to Visanthe Shiancoe this made Keith Brooking of the Cowboys mad he said the Vikings have “no class” since they already had the game won before they scored that last td. The final score was a beat down 34-3. The second game we had was the Jets taking on the San Diego Chargers. Wow this game went bad for the Chargers Nate Kaeding pro bowl kicker missed 3 field goals that should had given the Chargers the win. It wasn’t all his fault the whole Chargers squad did bad. The Jets with rookie coach Rex Ryan and rookie QB Mark Sanchez have won their second playoff game and will face the Colts next week for the AFC Championship game. The Vikings will take on the Saints for the NFC Championship. One last thing today we lost Gaines Adams he played his first two years with the Bucs and then he went on to play for the Bears. He died due to an enlarged heart he was 26.

Wild Card Weekend12.01.10

So this week in the wild card playoff games we had three rematches from last week. First we had the Jets@Bengals. The highlights of this game were first: we had rookie QB Mark Sanchez and rookie head coach Rex Ryan get their first playoff win. Second we had round two of Chad Ochocinco against Darrelle Revis and again Revis was able to stop Ochocinco. Mark Sanchez complete 12/15 passes 182 yards 1 td and no int pretty good stuff from a rookie QB. The Second rematch we had was Eagles@Cowboys. Eagles defense was just horrible no match against the hated Cowboys. The Cowboys got their first playoff win since 1996 and will face the Vikings next week. The last rematch we had was Packers at Cardinals. This game turned out to be an amazing game with a combine of 96 points over 1,000 combine yards of offense. Well the game started in favor of the Cardinals being up 31-10 however the Packers and Aaron Rodgers managed to put up an amazing game that went into over time with the score of 45-45. In overtime the Packers won the coin toss, but everything went wrong Aaron Rodgers got sack and lost the football and Karlos Dansby of the Cardinals took the ball to the pound for the game winning touchdown. It was weird to see the game come down on a defensive play because both defense did pretty bad the entire game leaving receivers open and everything. The Ravens won the Patriots in a game that Tom Brady had 3int and 1 fumble.

NFL Week 17: Regular Season Finale04.01.10

Today was the last week of the regular season of the NFL we had teams trying to win games to go to the playoffs and we had teams that just wanted to finish strong. Well the games that were interesting were first Saints@Pathers. Wow the Saints have loss 3 straight while the Panthers have won 3 straight with nothing to play for. What happened to the Saints? Are they still the top team in the NFC I guess not. Colts at Bills, Colts backups got killed by the Bills. I guess this loss was a good one for the Colts incase they end up winning the Super Bowl, they wont have that feeling of coming down short on a unbeaten season thanks to one loss (they have loss 2 straight). Ah my Eagles received what the Cowboys got last year in the season closer which was a murder. My Eagles lost against the hated Cowboys 24-0. Eagles showed nothing, but dumb missed opportunities and penalties. Eagles will face the Cowboys again next week in the first game of the playoffs. It’s funny to see teams that got nothing to play for end the hopes of teams that got a chance to make the playoffs. That’s what the Chiefs did to the Denver Broncos 44-24. The Broncos started 6-0 and were the talk of the NFL for a while, but that ended. Both Steelers and Dolphins who went at it today to make the playoffs are eliminated. Running back Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans is the 6th player to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.

Week 16:SNF28.12.09

Ah I really wanted the Redskins to win this game so that the Eagles could be NFC East Champs. However the Cowboys won the Redskins 17-0. What this means is that the Cowboys and Eagles are going to play for the NFC East Title next week. To finish the NFC playoff picture is all set these are the teams who are in: Saints, Vikings, Eagles, Cardinals, Packers and Cowboys.

NFl Week 1628.12.09

Like I said the game of the week would be Ravens@Steelers two teams trying to go to the playoffs. The Ravens had like 2 chances to take the lead in the 4th quarter and probably win the game, but penalties and drop passes would haunt the Ravens. The Ravens thought they had a chance to come back when they intercepted Ben Roethlisberger, but illegal contact against the Ravens would eliminate the int. Steelers took three QB kneels to end the game. Steelers are still in the hunt for the playoffs. Wow the Buccaneers won the Saints!!!???? That is freaking crazy, I remember when Reggie Bush said “Saints will go undefeated” so far they have loss two straight. Broncos@Eagles those Broncos had me worried the whole 3rd and 4th quarter I must admit they dominated the 2nd half, but they loss thanks to a David Akers game winning field goal. The Colts no longer undefeated well this because Peyton Manning was bench (coach decision) and other starters were also bench to prevent injury. The Jets now control their own destiny, however they will be out of playoff contention with a loss to the Bengals next week. Giants what a way to close down their stadium they got destroyed by the Panthers who had nothing to play for, but pride 41-9. Wow the regular season ends next week!!
