So today the Lakers played on TNT for MLK day’s double header. The Lakers to start the game looked really good, but they ended the half missing most of their shots and bad defense; giving the Magic momentum for the 3rd quarter. In the 3rd quarter the Magic started the 2nd half strong taking the lead from the Lakers, but the Lakers with help from the bench; Shannon Brown & Jordan Farmar gave the Lakers a lift and a full head of steam to carry into the 4th quarter. Coming from behind now, Jordan Farmar play after play after play gave the Lakers the lead and never looked back. Shannon Brown ended the game with 22 points his season high; to celebrate his entry in the dunk contest which was announce today.

Ok, well I haven’t been writing much on this blog, but I’m going to try my best to keep this Laker Blog Updated. I’m currently looking for some new bloggers to keep a consistency going, so if you’re interested feel free to contact us.
Anyways, todays Laker game was an “away” game against probably one of the worst franchises in the league. The Clippers played the Lakers hard all throughout the game being up by as much as 15 points & never trailed. Although the Lakers brought the game to a tie, the Clippers played a good game & beat the Lakers with the final score: 102-91

Ok, well the Lakers are looking BAD right about now, losing two straight against the two teams whom they had a tough time against last year in the playoffs. The only good thing about todays game was watching my boy Trevor Ariza get his championship ring from Kobe & Fisher just before the game.

Today the Lakers took on the 7-1 Phenix Suns who yesterday ran up the court & the score on the Hornets. At one point I was hoping the Suns didn’t play as good as they did yesterday; today against the Lakers, but they didn’t. The Lakers controlled the tempo from the start of the game and would go on to win by 19. The Lakers also almost held the Suns below 100, but came up a bit short. All around good game by the Lakers who now will play the Nuggets tomorrow night on ESPN.

So now to wrap up the Opening day game for the Lakers. I thought the first half was somewhat slow; the Lakers defense was a little off and the scoring wasn’t really there, but considering Pau Gasol was out the Lakers played fairly well. Ron Artest didn’t do much and the only notable person to me was Lamar Odom & Andrew Bynum. Lamar dropped 16 pts & 13 rebounds, Bynum dropped 26 pts & 13 rebounds as well and Kobe; well Kobe dropped 33 pts.
Overall a pretty good game; the Clippers stuck around and were only down one at the end of the 3rd, but the Lakers picked it up in the 4th and out scored the Clippers to win 99-92.

Ok so when the Laker ring ceremony started; I can’t explain how loud it was in my house. Aside from me yelling & clapping I love to blast the BOSE system on every game. Watching the ceremony brought back memories from the day the Lakers won the championship and wow, did I get goosebumps! The ceremony also brought MUCH hype to the start of the season & I can’t wait to see how it develops.

Laker gold — Most rings are 14-karat gold but the Lakers’ high-profile jeweler, Jason of Beverly Hills, created a special batch of 15-karat Laker gold to commemorate their 15th NBA championship. The ring is made of both white and yellow gold and was built from seven different parts that had to be assembled. Most rings are built as one unit.
Bling that’ll blind — The ring is comprised of 15 diamonds weighing in at 2.85 carats.
Home court advantage — The Lakers’ rings mirror the shape of the exterior of their home arena, the Staples Center. When viewed from the side, you can see the “roof” and “sides” of the Lakers’ home court.
Personalization — In the past every player has had their name and number on the side of their ring. The Lakers went a step above that and laser engraved the image of each player’s face on his ring.
Lock-down defense — Each ring boasts a hand-selected, diamond-engraved “L”. The “L” is placed in a different position on each player’s ring and is only viewable with a high-powered microscope. This helps authenticate each players piece. For further security and authentification, every ring has a serial number which is stored in a database that only the Lakers themselves and the jeweler can access.
Hollywood packaging, too — Each ring will be presented in an oversized box roughly the size of a watch box. When opened, each box has two built-in LED spotlights that shine on the ring. Even the ring itself gets royal treatment: it is mounted on a rotating mechanical platform.
