Corinthians x Nike Football: 30 Million Strong
São Paulo-based Sport Club Corinthians Paulista or more simply known as Corinthians celebrates the century mark as of September 1st, 2010. As one of Brazil’s most storied teams, the club boasts over 30 million fans, a legion that trumps the likes of many well-established footballing countries. Known by the slogan “Corinthians will be the people’s team, and the people will make the team”, the video above documents the team’s atmosphere and the Corinthian legacy.
2010 NBA CHAMPIONS: The Los Angeles Lakers
Today, marks yet another day in sports history, back-to-back championships by yours truly; The Los Angeles Lakers. As the day began I awoke with one thing on my mind, win or lose. I had a really crazy feeling waking up to that thought and thinking, “Game 7, NBA Finals” just thinking about it you knew how much this game was worth. Before the game started my nerves started to build and as the game went on little by little you knew just how intense and meaningful the game was, it was a lot. The Lakers played a horrible first quarter and it didn’t help seeing Kobe struggle with his shot. Frustrating enough, the Lakers were constantly missing free throws and just didn’t seem in rhythm. Quietly though, Ron Artest was making his presence felt on the team and in the series by dropping 20 points and rallying the Lakers back into the game in the 4th quarter. Overall, I think the game was hard fought by both teams & it could’ve been anyones for the taking. The Lakers though, closing out the final two minutes of the game like the Champions the well deserve to be. Well, another season, another championship, another reason to love the Lakers that much more. Congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Forever baby!
Kobe Bryant – All Together Now
Basketball greats – past and present – celebrate Kobe Bryant’s quest for a fifth championship ring in the new Nike Basketball commercial “All Together Now”. Andre 3000 delivers the soundtrack to it by presenting his interpretation of the Beatles-song “All Together Now”. Enjoy.
SLAM 139: On Sale Now!
Issue number 139 of SLAM Magazine (July Issue) features none other than Michael Jordan on the cover, since finally hanging up his Air Jordan’s for good, the G.O.A.T. as SLAM’s Ben Osborne calls him, has gone onto become the first ex-NBA player to own his own NBA franchise, having purchased the Charlotte Bobcats a few months ago. The newest issue will not only feature an extensive article on Michael Jordan by the great Rick Telander but it will also feature pieces on Gordon Hayward, Vince Carter, Stephen Curry, Zach Randolph, and more.

Nike Golf “Earl And Tiger” Commercial
Prior to Tiger Woods’ return to golf, Nike had sampled the voice of Tiger’s late father, Earl Woods, to produce this commercial in which Earl asks his son a few questions about the recent events from beyond the grave. This very personal, almost surreal black and white advert sees the camera slowly zoom in to a silent Tiger Woods, who stares back, with a somber, apologetic look in his eyes.
Nike Sportswear x Futura Stickballers Promo Video
This Sunday, Mercer Street will be closed off for a Stickball game to celebrate the beginning of Baseball season. Nike Sportswear have got together with Futura to set up the event, off the back of Futura’s recent Yankee’s inspired Air Force One releases. MADSTEEZ “Make the Difference” Mural
“In November of last year, MADSTEEZ was commissioned to pull of an incredible feat of creating a massive 80 foot by 30 foot mural on the rooftop of the Nike-affiliated Ricardo Montblan Theatre in Hollywood. The subsequent video documents the production and execution of the mural which involves many of Nike Football’s biggest stars including Ronaldo, Zlatan, Torres, Rooney and Donovan.”

World Cup: Jabulani ball
Yesterday adidas and FIFA unveiled it’s the Official Match Ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Comprising only eight, completely new, thermally bonded 3-D panels, which for the first time are spherically moulded, the Jabulani is perfectly round and even more accurate than any ball ever before. The newly developed “Grip’n’Groove” profile provides the best players in the world with a ball allowing an exceptionally stable flight and perfect grip under all conditions.
The name Jabulani originates from the Bantu language isiZulu, one of the eleven official languages of the Republic of South Africa, which is spoken by almost 25% of the population. Literally translated, “Jabulani” means “to celebrate”. The design features eleven different colors representing the eleventh adidas World Cup ball. These 11 colors also represent the 11 players in every team, the 11 official languages of South Africa and the 11 South African tribes that make the country one of the most ethnologically diverse countries on the African continent. The colorful design brings together the tremendous diversity of the country in harmonious unity. Four triangle-shaped design elements on a white background lend the ball a unique appearance in African spirit.
